Support
A wide range of support is available to Conservatorium students. The Conservatorium has a student counsellor provided by the University’s counselling service. You can also access support and advice through the first year mentoring program, year advisors, and disabilities and sexual harassment officer.
Conservatorium students can also make use of the general services and assistance provided by the University. For more information about the types of support offered please visit the Student Services website.
Student Counselling Service at the Conservatorium
Dr Kathryn Elbourne will be available every week on Thursdays starting May 28 in Room 4036. Sessions will be run as follows:
- 9am: client hour
- 10am: client hour
- 11am: walk in time
- 11:30am: walk in time
All appointments can be booked through the Counselling Service Reception: phone 8627 8433
Please note that the walk in times are 1/2 hour appointments for a first point of contact with the service.
For 'walk in' appointments, students can drop by on the day and place their initials or other identifier on the 'walk-in' time sheet outside the counselling office (Room 4036)'.
If you require the services of a counsellor on a day when the counsellor is not at the con, please utilise the services on main campus:
Counselling Service Office, Level 5, Jane Foss Russell Building; phone: 8627 8433. They provide both appointments and walk-in service 5 days a week (9am - 5pm), all year round.
Support for International students is available through the International Student Services Unit (ISSU). The ISSU provides an integrated counselling and welfare service to international students and helps students cope with the challenges of living and studying in an unfamiliar culture. It is also a resource centre for students and their families.
