Scholarships
Scholarships for Semester 1, 2009 have now closed.
Information for Scholarships for Semester 2, 2009 will be updated in mid June.
Enrolling & Continuing Students – A limited number of scholarships may be available for Semester 2, 2009.
Travel Scholarships – There will be a limited number available on application only.
University Scholarships – Information document and Application form for the 2009 Semester 2 “Vice-Chancellor’s Research Scholarships (VCRS)” and “University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA)” are now available on the Research Office website.
To be eligible to apply in this scholarship round, applicants must be Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and New Zealand Citizens proposing to commence a full-time Research degree at The University of Sydney in 2009 Semester 2. Please also note that only commencing PhD students will be considered for the VCRS.
Successful applicants must enrol and commence their award by 31 August 2009 and no deferment of the scholarship will be allowed.
Closing date – Friday, 12th June 2009.

University of Sydney Financial Assistance Scholarships
The Financial Assistance Office at the University of Sydney provides support to degree students who are experiencing financial difficulty and whose academic work may suffer as a result. Interest free loan and bursary assistance is intended to help students in emergencies so that they can maintain a reasonable standard of living. However, assistance cannot be provided as a regular source of income. Students may apply for assistance more than once during their degree.
These applicants should be prepared to submit confidential information about their financial circumstances to assist the Financial Assistance Office in awarding loans and bursaries.
Students or prospective students wishing to be considered for the award of the scholarship based on financial need should submit a separate Application for Scholarships to the Financial Assistance Office.
