Life at the Con
Students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music enjoy an amazing array of opportunities.
The building itself was restored and rebuilt, reopening in 2001 with state of the art facilities for study, practice and performances. The student to staff ratio is very low (around 2.5:1 for undergraduate students) and all students have many opportunities to perform in ensembles, orchestras and chamber groups, jazz ensembles, choirs and opera.
Composition and music technology offers students courses and skills to create music for today’s multimedia environment. The Conservatorium’s concert and recital halls give Sydney’s music lovers a choice of superb venues to enjoy concerts and recitals by students, staff and visiting guest artists. They are also used by many other professional groups creating a hub for the musical performing arts in the city.
