REQUESTING JOURNAL ARTICLES

Searching the Catalogue

All journal titles must first be searched on the University of Sydney catalogue. A number of journals are now held in electronic form and may be accessed directly from your desk top.

If you require assistance with using e-journals, or searching journal titles please contact the Reference Librarians to arrange for a tutorial.

Request Forms

  • All requests including Inter-Campus requests must be made via the USYD catalogue on-line Document Delivery system.
  • Email requests are not accepted.
  • Use the Request an Article form for journal articles.
  • If the journal is not held in a USYD library your request will automatically be sent to an Australian library providing a source can be found.
  • If there are no holdings for the item in Australia the library will send the request to an overseas commercial retrieval service. These services may be expensive and some occasions the library may contact you, and/or your supervisor to confirm that the item is central to your research.

  • Give complete information.
  • If you know the call number and/or holding library, include this information.
  • If your request is complex, or you do not have complete information, use the on-line request forms, and also email the
