What is a journal?

A journal is a collection of papers filed together as one publication
Journals are also called serials, periodicals or sometimes magazines
They are published on a regular basis:

Weekly
Fortnightly
Quarterly
Biannually or Yearly

They may be popular or scholarly
Scholarly journals may be peer reviewed
They are an important component of research because they present the most current information on a topic

The following tutorial shows how to find a print version of a journal when the title of the journal is known to you.
Always click on the Journal option on the catalogue.
Make sure you note the Journal title, volume number, date and page numbers before you conduct your search. This will enable you to ascertain whether the library holds the relevant issue.
