Research and creative work profiles
Daniel Herscovitch
Daniel Herscovitch has recorded works ranging from Mozart to Smalley. His recording of the Mozart/Grieg complete works for two pianos was a world premiere as were also many of his recordings of contemporary works. Since his appointment to the staff of Sydney Conservatorium a particular focus of his work has been on piano pedagogy on which he also lectures. He has also been very active in the preparation of advanced students' chamber ensembles for public performances organised by the Conservatorium. He is also coordinator of the postgraduate performance students.
Stephanie McCallum
Specialises in virtuosic nineteenth century music, particularly Liszt and Alkan, and in contemporary solo and ensemble scores. Has released CDs of the music of Liszt, Weber, Alkan, Magnard, Boulez, Xenakis and of contemporary Australian composers. Solo CDs include Liszt: from the Years of Pilgrimage.
