Daryl Pratt
Daryl’s broad performance background has an emphasis in Contemporary Classical music and Jazz. Performance experience: Sonor director Bernard Rands (1977-1984), co-founded Pipeline with Simone deHaan (1987-1995), The Australia Art Orchestra director Paul Grabowsky (1994-2001), AtmaSphere, David Jones (1991-) and The Chad Wackerman Group (1997-2004). Orchestral background: Timpanist with The La Jolla Civic Orchestra (1978-1980) and Canberra Symphony Orchestra (1985-1990). Percussion with San Diego Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Chamber performances: Synergy, The Australia Ensemble, The Australia Chamber Orchestra. Founded the electric Jazz group Sonic Fiction (1993) and the Percussion Duo Match (2001) with Alison Eddington. Recordings on ABC, Lovely, Naxos, CRI, Rufus Records, EFA, VoxAustralis, Fleur de Son Classics, and Tall Poppies. Compositions for solo, chamber ensemble and voice.
Alison Eddington
Alison was the first percussionist to win the ABC Young Performer of the Year in 1995. In 1996 she won the Western Australia Arts Award for the Young Australian of the Year. She has performed with The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, The Seymour Group and The Song Company and concerti with Sydney Symphony Orchestra (1997, 2004) and West Australian Symphony Orchestra (2002).
She has numerous television and radio broadcasts with the ABC, a solo percussion CD and recordings with Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Alpha Ensemble, Synergy, The Song Company, The Contemporary Singers and Cantillation. Synergy’s Young Associate Artist in 1994, she has been a permanent member since 1997. She founded Match with Daryl Pratt in 2001.
Steven Machamer
Mr Machamer's career includes numerous Broadway musicals in the USA and in international tours. During twenty-six years in New York, Steven performed regularly at Carnegie Hall with the American Symphony Orchestra, American Chamber Orchestra, Solisti New York, and at Lincoln Center with the Little Orchestra Society, New York City Ballet, Metropolitan Opera and NYC Opera. Mr Machamer toured with the NYC Opera National Company for seven seasons as Principal Percussionist and/or Principal Timpanist. He has recordings on CRI, EMI Angel, Newport Classics, Sine Qua Non, Ashlar Records, Music Masters, Millennial Arts, and Musical Heritage Society. Resident in Sydney since 2001, his activities include film, television, video sessions, and performances with the Australian Opera and Ballet and Sydney Symphony Orchestras.
Richard Miller
Mr Miller was appointed Percussionist and Assistant Timpanist (1974) and Principal Timpanist (1986) with The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, a position he still holds. He has been a member of Synergy and has performed with most chamber ensembles in Sydney and orchestras throughout Australia. Performance highlights include: soloist with the SSO in Panufnik’s “Concerto for Timpani and Percussion”, “Der Wuld” Concerto for Timpani and Orchestra by Siegfried Matthus and “Concerto Fantasy” for 2 Timpanists (with Jonathan Haas) by Philip Glass.
