Blues Piano

This course provides an introduction to playing traditional Blues piano. Learning blues licks, riffs, chords and bass lines from Kansas City Boogie Woogie, New Orleans Piano, Southern Gospel and Memphis Soul will give you what you need to make bluesy additions to your playing, song-writing and band arranging.

All learning is done by ear. Students are able to learn and progress at their own level. A less advanced player can form basic building blocks while learning to improvise and accompany with chords. An experienced jazz improviser or classical pianist can improve their soulfulness and groove by learning the rich vocabulary of Blues traditionalists.
