UK and Europe, September, 2008

Elaine Chia, International Development Manager will be in the UK and Belgium during September, 2008. Elaine will attend the Association of European Conservatoires’ Annual AEC International Relations Coordinators Meeting from 5-6 September and visit partner institutions and alumni living and working in Europe.


China and Hong Kong, October, 2008

Following our successful concerts in Beijing as part of the pre-Olympic music festival at the Central Conservatory of Music, the Sydney Conservatorium will join with the University of Sydney delegation for a series of events in Shanghai and Hong Kong during October, 2008.

2009
Conservatorium students to study in Bali

The mid-year break in 2009 will see a group of Sydney Conservatorium Music Education undergraduates studying Balinese gamelan and dance in the Balinese village of Pengosekan with members of the Balinese group Cudamani. This fieldwork trip will allow students to experience the teaching styles of Balinese musicians, to observe music and dance in Balinese village life, and interact with performers, teachers and students in a south east Asian cultural context.
